The ingredients needed to make Teriyaki sauce:
  1. Make ready Overnight Preparation
  2. Take 1 cup low sodium soy sauce
  3. Prepare 2 cup water
  4. Take 4 clove garlic
  5. Take 1 inch ginger root
  6. Take Final Preparation
  7. Make ready 1 cup brown sugar
  8. Make ready 2 tbsp honey
  9. Prepare Thickening
  10. Make ready 3 tbsp corn starch

Instructions to make Teriyaki sauce:
  1. Peel and chop garlic and ginger as fine as possible. Do not crush.
  2. Mix all the overnight preparation ingredients in an air tight container, and leave in the fridge overnight.
  3. Next day, take mixture from the fridge, combine with sugar and honey and heat on stove until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. Let cool and store in a jar in the fridge or consume immediately. Better to let sit for a couple of days.
  5. To thicken, mix cornstarch with a bit of water in a cup and stir or add more water until dissolved. Stir in with the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil. Stir until thickened and let cool before storing in the fridge.
