Get 1 tsp Turmeric,Red chilli powder
Prepare 1 tbsp Coriander powder
Make ready 1 tbsp Garam masala
Get 1 tsp Ginger1/2 inch piece,
Get 2 Grated Garlic cloves,
Get as required grated Coriander (Cilantro)
Take 1/4 tsp Lemon juice as per the taste (optional)
Take 1 Pinch Asafoetida (hing)
Get to taste Salt
Steps to make Punjabi dal fry tadka (dhara kitchen recipes):
To Boil Dal: - Mix all dals in equal quantity and rinse thoroughly with water. Soak in 2 1/2 cup of water. In a pressure cooker put the soaked dal and add some turmeric powder tomato, onion salt and green chilli cook for about 10 mins. Keep the boiled dal aside.
To Make Tadka: - In a pan heat oil or ghee. Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and let it temper.
Then add pinch of asafoetida, dry red chilli, cinnamon stick, cloves, bay leaf, curry leaves and cook for a min.
Add green onion and cook for about 3 mins and add tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, grated ginger, grated garlic, chopped green chillies and salt to taste.
Cook till all the flavours of spices are blended in onion and tomato.
Add the boiled dals in it and mix well and add some water to it.
