The lentil (Lens culinaris or Lens esculenta) is an edible legume. It is an annual plant known for its lens-shaped seeds. As a food crop, the majority of world production comes from Canada and India. Among other lentils, red lentils have a sweet distinct flavor.

Red lentils is one of the most well liked of recent trending foods in the world. It is appreciated by millions every day. It’s easy, it’s fast, it tastes yummy. They are nice and they look fantastic. Red lentils is something which I have loved my entire life.

The ingredients needed to make Red lentils:
  1. Make ready 1 overful cup of split red lentils(soak about half hour)
  2. Take 1 medium -large white onion
  3. Prepare Half can of tomato pureed briefly (about 3 tomatoes)

  5. Take Spices:l level tsp garlic paste
  6. Take Spices:1 teaspoon salt(another tsp for before cooking them)
  7. Make ready spices:half teaspoon tumeric powder,1 tspn cumin seed
  8. Get Spices:1 tspn Red chilli flakes(optional,but gives nice flavor)
  9. Make ready Quater cup or so, cooking oil(see pictt of oil used in pan)
  10. Prepare Garnish:corriander and green pepper /paprika

Red split lentils are fast cooking lentils that cook down into a creamy, hearty stew. Dried red lentils are actually orange in color, and are sometimes also labeled as Egyptian lentils. Red curry lentils is my all-time favorite lentil recipe. Thick, creamy, saucy, and perfect as leftovers.

Instructions to make Red lentils:
  1. Soak red lentil in 1 cup warm water,about half hour until water absorbed most of water.discard remaining water over sink
  2. After discard water add about tspn of salt nd stir.. set aside while you fry onions and spices..fry onions until golden brown not burnt then add spices to cook then in oil briefly.then add lentils and
  3. Add spices,lentils and tomatoes and water,stir and cover them cook on medium low heat until sift then on low heat til ready(here they wher slightly mushy as how they are preferred when eating esp with flat breads etc,but can also make not mushy by cookin bit less..can try these different texture and use as prefer inshaallah
  4. Add chopped corriander and chopped green peppers.
  5. Bismillah and enjoy!

Red curry lentils is my all-time favorite lentil recipe. Thick, creamy, saucy, and perfect as leftovers. Red lentils look more orange than red after the cook, especially with the addition of turmeric. I use Bob's Red Mill Red Lentils which are grown in the Pacific Northwest.
